Couch to 5K Trainin
We are planning a Couch to 5K Training Plan. The training starts 8/25/14. Please help us srpead the word. This is for those who have never run before as well as anyone who just needs to get back into running.
2013 Half Marathon Training
We are planning group runs focused on fall half marathon training. Our current plan is to have group runs early Sunday morning starting from the Manchester Recreation Center. We will start the runs on July 21 and run each Sunday morning through October 6th. The distance will start at 5 or 6 miles and get progressively longer. The hope is that those of you training for a fall half marathon might join us for your long weekly run. The courses will be marked. There will be self serve water stops every couple of miles. We will also have Gu (or some other brand) Energy Gel at appropriate points on the course as well.
We are still working on a few of the details for the training. One of those details is the start time. We know we want to start early since it will be hot. Current thinking is 6:30 or 7:00 am. If you plan to join us and would like to provide input on the start time - please send an email to email@example.com and let us know your thoughts.
We are currently also sorting out the mileage progression - we are considering a couple of different plans. Once we sort that out, we will publish that - hopefully within the next week.
Our hope is that folks who are new to the half marathon distance as well as veteran half marathon runners will join us. All speeds are welcome.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing today of Ida Smith, wife of Dale Smith and long-time member and supporter of both the cycling and running clubs. We extend to the Smith family our sincerest of sympathy and condolences at this difficult time, and we ask that you keep them in your hearts and prayers.
Ida has been part of our local running community for more than 30 years. She has been running longer than many of us have been alive. Ida has been a vital support member of the Mach Tenn Running Club as well. She has been participating in, volunteering at, and helping to organize club events as long as anyone can remember. She was taken from us at much too young age, and she will be greatly missed.
Arrangements will be posted as we learn them.

Tims Ford State Park Run
It was a really nice day for a December Run. The Tims Ford run is a lot like many of the other Park Series Running Tour runs. It is a bit like a runners family reunion - well the whole series is like that. Runners from all over the state get together once a week in the winter months for a run. Often times it is weather that the faint of heart runner would not even consider running in. The Tims Ford run, this year however, had near perfect weather for a run.
Links to the race results have been posted on our Results page.

State Park Running Tour Calendar has been published
For 33 years the Tennessee State Parks have been sponsoring the Tennessee State Park Running Tour. The Tour consists of races across the state at various of the state parks. The runs range from 5 miles to a half marathon and occur in the fall/winter months of the year. There are incentives for those who run 5 or more of the series. The tour is a great way to stay in shape over the winter months. One of the nice things about the runs is that they all start at 11AM local time so you have time to drive to the races that morning. The Running Tour is not for the casual runner - these events are longer and the weather is often times cold, rainy, and/or snowy. They are great fun. You can find all of the information at the tour website.
41A Music Fest 5K
The results for the 41A Music Fest 5K have been posted on our results page as well as the race's site. The weather was near perfect for running. We would like to thank those that came out for the run. A big thanks to the 41A Music and Arts Festival Organizers that provided the drink tickets to the participants. We would also like to thank the Tullahoma Police Department and the Tullahoma Cross Country Team for support on the race course.
