Free Runner Safety Workshop – March 6

Mach Tenn Running Club and the Manchester Rec Center will host a free Runner Safety Workshop on Tuesday, March 6 at the Ada Wright Center in Manchester at 6:00 PM. The Ada Wright Center is located at 328 North Woodland Street in Manchester.

The class will will include topics on simple safety tips while running, being visible, aware of surroundings, and options to protect yourself in the event of an attack.

The class will be led by Mach Tenn Running Club’s Neek Readus. Neek spent eight years in the Marine Corps where he was decorated, and quickly rose to the rank of Sergeant. Half of his military time was spent working at U.S. embassies and consulates abroad. More recently he retired last year as a Sergeant from the Winston-Salem Police Department in North Carolina, after more than twenty-one years of service. While at the police department, he was assigned to various units, including a special incident squad, robbery task force, foot patrol, patrol division, recruiting unit and the traffic enforcement unit.
